To accelerate the development of the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia, PT PLN Engineering invited Chinese companies, including PFM PT PLN (Persero), PT Haleyora Power, PT PLN Tarakan, PT IBC, PT PLN ICON+, and PT PLN Pusharlis, to attend the Electric Vehicle Design and Infrastructure Nusantara seminar held on Wednesday (10/05) at the Hotel Grandhika. The seminar was held in a hybrid format, with 100 offline and 25 Zoom online guests attending. Ms. Chairani Rachmatullah, President of PT PLN Enjiniring, delivered the opening speech, and Raka Budi Satrio Utomo, Assistant Business Development Analyst of PT PLN Enjiniring, introduced RIVERA (Electric Vehicle Archipelago).

This innovative concept aims to provide suitable electric vehicle solutions for the geographic and climatic conditions faced by Indonesia. The RIVERA project plans to use electric vehicles and charging infrastructure as a sustainable transportation solution between different islands in Indonesia, reducing dependence on traditional fuels and reducing environmental impact.
Subsequently, representatives from various Chinese companies gave speeches, including LAUNCH discussing the design of 7 SUVs, Yi Wei New Energy Vehicles discussing electric vehicle control, commercial vehicles, and special applications, and BAK discussing batteries and battery packs. In addition, Yonggui company discussed charging and systems with Hengky Setiawan, Vice President of Marketing of PT PLN Enjiniring, and Raka Budi. In these discussions, representatives from various companies shared their experiences and technologies, providing insights and suggestions on electric vehicle design, production, charging, infrastructure, and operation.
Through this seminar, PT PLN Engineering hopes to lead the PLN Group in developing the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia, further promoting the development of this field, and demonstrating the company’s leading position and strength in this area. PT PLN Engineering’s goal is to further promote the development of electric vehicle technology and infrastructure to meet the growing demand for electric vehicles in Indonesia through cooperation with representatives from various companies.
Subsequently, Yi Wei Automotive Chairman Li Hongpeng signed a strategic cooperation agreement with PT PLN Engineering. PT PLN Engineering praised Yi Wei Automotive’s technical viewpoints and development ideas, expressing a willingness to strengthen technical exchanges and cooperation for mutual benefit in accelerating the development of the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia in the future.
Yi Wei Automotive Chairman Li Hongpeng expressed the hope that through this seminar, Yi Wei Automotive and PT PLN Engineering can lead the PLN Group in steadily developing the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia.
