On March 6, Director Liu Jun of the Investment Promotion Bureau of Fuyang-Hefei Modern Industrial Park (hereinafter referred to as “Fuyang-Hefei Park”) and his delegation visited Yiwei Motors. They were warmly received by Mr. Li Hongpeng, Chairman of Yiwei Motors, and Mr. Wang Junyuan, General Manager of Hubei Yiwei Motors. The delegation first arrived at Yiwei’s Chengdu Innovation Center, where they toured the latest new energy sanitation vehicle products, production and debugging lines for superstructure power and control systems, and the intelligent connected vehicle platform.
During the discussion session, Director Liu highlighted Fuyang-Hefei Park’s strategic advantages in geographic location, talent resources, transportation, policy support, and cultural heritage. He also reviewed the park’s development journey: established in 2011 through a joint initiative by Fuyang and Hefei, the park was tasked by the Anhui Provincial Government with driving the province’s economic growth and revitalizing Northern Anhui. Spanning 30 square kilometers, it has now formed a thriving industrial cluster for automobile manufacturing and components. Director Liu praised Yiwei Motors’ strengths in technological innovation and product development for new energy specialized vehicles, aligning with national policies promoting intelligent and connected automotive industries.
Chairman Li Hongpeng extended a warm welcome to Director Liu and proposed Yiwei’s plan to establish a specialized vehicle manufacturing base in East China. The base will serve three key functions:
- Act as Yiwei’s East China hub for specialized vehicle production.
- Engage in remanufacturing of used vehicles to adapt to the shift in sanitation sales models from direct sales to leasing.
- Conduct secondary and tertiary manufacturing of new energy vehicle superstructures, as well as circular remanufacturing of end-of-life vehicles.
Chairman Li emphasized that the electrification of specialized vehicles is in a phase of rapid growth, further fueled by China’s push for comprehensive electrification of public sector vehicles. To seize this opportunity, Yiwei has focused since its inception on in-house R&D of chassis, superstructure power systems, and integrated vehicle solutions, steadily building expertise and competitiveness in the industry.
Director Liu noted that Fuyang-Hefei Park is actively advancing the development of new energy vehicle and component industrial clusters. Yiwei’s proposed manufacturing base aligns closely with the park’s long-term vision. He expressed hope to deepen collaboration and jointly drive industrial growth. To ensure smooth project implementation for businesses in the park, the administration will provide comprehensive planning, phased execution, and high-quality support services.
