On November 16th, six 18-ton electric wrecker trucks, jointly developed by Chengdu Yiwai New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu Zhongqi Gaoke Co., Ltd., were officially delivered to Yinchuan Public Transportation Co., Ltd. This marks the first batch delivery of wrecker trucks.
According to the recent notice jointly issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Transport, and other eight departments, titled “Notice on Initiating the Pilot Program of Comprehensive Electrification of Public Sector Vehicles in the First Batch of Leading Areas,” Yinchuan City is one of the first pilot cities nationwide. This delivery also signifies another advancement in promoting the electrification of public sector vehicles by Yiwai Automobile.
With the widespread use of electric buses across the country, traditional rescue methods are no longer able to meet the demands of rapid and safe wrecker rescue operations. Electric wrecker trucks, based on traditional rescue vehicles, utilize electrification and information technology to expand various rescue methods specifically designed for electric buses.
When a bus breaks down, the wrecker truck can complete fault diagnosis or vehicle towing within 10 minutes after arrival, quickly relieving road traffic pressure. With its high load-bearing capacity, “two-in-one” towing apparatus (lifting and tire-holding), widened arm design, and spare DC/AC steering oil pump, the electric wrecker truck offers precise rescue and quick towing for different vehicle types such as low-floor buses and airport shuttle buses.
The innovative design includes three high-power power supply interfaces of 20+60+120 kW, enabling the wrecker truck to instantly transform into a “mobile charging station” and recharge vehicles at the rescue site. It also features connectivity to the bus monitoring platform, real-time backend monitoring, and rapid response to faults.
